Its been a while…

So, I have been hard at work getting the website up and running. It is really coming along. Check it out at www.firstcamelove.com. I expect to have it completed by the end of next month.

This past weekend a friend of mine had a baby shower for her twins. Because they are boy/girl twins, I searched high and low for a unisex fabric that fit a sophisticated mom’s style and I found my new favorite designer. I love Amy Butler designs. She has fabulous patterns that will fit any mom’s style. LOVE IT! So for my friend, I chose the Grey Lacework from the Lotus collection as my base pattern. Let me tell you, that’s not an easy pattern to find. But I was able to snag a few yards along with some other patterns to accent it from other Amy Butler Lotus collection patterns. Be Creative

Well, since I’ve been so busy getting the website complete and products ready for purchase I haven’t had a time to do much blogging. But I have another Be Creative idea for you.

Pick 2 monograms. The first monogram, which uses your names before marriage, is used for the wedding and all pre-wedding events and print items. The second monogram uses your new last name or just the new initial. Here are some examples.

There are many ways in which custom aisle runners, table runners and banners can be used and I’ve found a new one!!  Be Creative is our new category. Whenever a new and creative way to display a runner or banner is found I will feature it here.

Our first featured Be Creative item comes from Karen Tran’s blog. I love the work of Karen Tran. She has a wonderful talent for floral design. One of her weddings features an aisle runner used as a canopy. I love it!!!  See this beautiful wedding here.

The new year has officially gotten underway and I am hard at work.  As I finalize the website and get ready to start showing my work off, I have definitely been busy. But there is nothing like doing what you love to do!!! Here are a few pictures of some of the latest baby collection items.

Welcome…the journey has just begun.

Hello there! My name is Lana. I am the creator and lead designer. After creating just about everything for my wedding, I realized that I really do love to create these custom items. This year has been spent creating handmade aisle runners, banners, baby accessories and paper products (coming soon) for many of my family members and friends.  I have finally decided to make it a business. First Came Love is really a labor of love. I offer customized creations that are all hand made with love by me. I love to create pretty things. I love to see my pretty things in use even more. So here, the journey begins. I’m currently working on an aisle runner for my friends Brandy & Winston’s New Year’s Day wedding in Las Vegas.
